Beautiful Conversations

For Women, Trans and Gender Diverse People

Perhaps you have wandered here looking for someone to walk alongside you as you navigate the contested territories of our ‘helping systems’ as a professional.

Perhaps you’re grappling with the larger questions pertaining to purpose, meaning, impermanence and finitude. Or perhaps you’re here in the spirit of discovery: looking to expand your self-awareness, exploring what you value and cherish & what is deeply alive in you.

You may looking for alternative ways of understanding and responding to your suffering and distress, that honour your capacity to know and make meaning of your experience. An approach where your unique experience is also considered within the social, historical, cultural and philosophical contexts that surround you.

Regardless of whether you have been guided here by curiosity or need…stay and have a look around.

Hello, my name is Natalia…

I am a Social Worker, supervisor and support worker with a humanistic, non-pathologising and justice-doing approach to support and supervision.

I consult with women, trans and gender diverse people (18+): both professionals seeking Social Work supervision and those who experience or have experienced life-interrupting challenges themselves. I also work with folks who pursue big questions about meaning and who are interested in psycho-spiritual expansion and growth. This includes folks who wish to or have used psychedelics.

The purpose of my work is to provide a safe(r), inclusive and compassionate space where beautiful conversations (and silence) can happen. I offer to meet you where you are at and walk alongside you as you witness your challenges, explore new ways of understanding and relating to your experiences, and seek preferred ways of living and thinking. I will treat you with empathy, respect and celebrate the person that you are right now.

My Offerings

  • Supervision

I think of supervision as a reflective, supportive and educational space where new graduates and students can feel safe to critically and vulnerably reflect on their professional practice while also receiving guidance and encouragement to develop their preferred professional identities.

  • Psychedelic Preparation and Integration

I offer harm reduction, preparation and integration sessions for people who use psychedelics. This type of intervention can help individuals plan, prepare, and gain insight and meaning from their psychedelic experiences.

  • NDIS Support Work

I provide a range of fun and useful community access and in-house supports to folks who are NDIS recipients in the Psycho-social Disability category.

  • Advocacy

I offer professional advocacy services for people who experience discrimination, barriers to access, or exclusion in health and social care, educational, legal and community settings.

I will not rescue you. For you are not powerless. I will not fix you. For you are not broken. I will not heal you. For I see you, in your wholeness. I will walk with you through the darkness, as you remember your light”

Beautiful Conversations is committed to Anti-Oppressive Practice. It is guided by the principles of:

  • Non-pathologising

While psychiatric labels can be comforting for some people, others experience them as stigmatising, simplifying and culturally inappropriate. I am committed to seeing you as a whole person, beyond and away from labels and towards your unique and rich descriptions of your experiences in the world and what they mean to YOU.

  • Cultural Humility

Rather than making claims to “cultural competence”, I will stand in humility and curiosity, willing to learn about cultures that differ from my own. I will hold myself accountable for the mistakes I may make.

  • De-centred therapist stance

I will do my best to listen to and privilege the words that you use, the way you make meaning of your experiences and the expertise that you possess. I may offer ideas or strategies, but you are the one deciding whether they fit with you and what to take on board.

  • Non-violent and critical use of language

I believe that language is not neutral; rather than merely reflecting our reality, it plays key role in one’s construction of reality; it may funnel our responses to what happens to us. Beautiful Conversations is passionate about the use of language that is careful, nuanced and used to stay in connection.

  • Social Justice

I recognise that individual distress and suffering are inseparable from the oppressive power structures that reflect, produce, and sustain racism, sexism, heterosexism, ableism and other intersecting forms of structural oppression. Beautiful Conversations is committed to resisting this oppression and striving towards equality alongside you. If you experience discrimination or a barrier, I will use my position to redress the inequality, where possible.
